Get Him To The Greek

Now, this movie was really hyped for over a year. And I finally got to watch it on Saturday night. And I have to say, I LOVED it! Russell Brand is so funny. He played Aldous Snow. For anyone that saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall, you'll remember him. He's the same character in both movies. I'd recommend this if you like the Judd Apatow movies. Diddy (Puffy/Puff Daddy/P. Diddy) was great in it too!

Sophie & Sian - Corrie

I love this picture of Sacha Parkinson and Brooke Vincent aka Sian and Sophie from Corrie. They're currently involved in a lesbian storyline in the show. They're both 15 in the show. Sophie is soon to be 16.

I read a spoiler that they are in for more heartache when the church that they both go to finds out about their relationship and the pastor thinks it's "unnatural" and all that.. But will it break up Sophie and Sian? I hope not. I like the pair together. And I believe that Sophie is the first openly lesbian character on the show. A regular. And I do hope they don't write her out of the show for any reason.

Katy and Russell

I love this picture of Katy and Russell. They are so adorable!

The Dixie Chicks

The Dixie Chicks are amazing. I watched Shut Up & Sing last night. I'm not into politics, and epecially not American politics, but I fully agreed with what Natalie Maines/Pasdar had said. "Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas." I'm not from Texas or America but it was always clear. George Bush was a joke. Still is.

The song "Not Ready To Make Nice" first got me listening to their music about 2 years ago. And since watching Shut Up & Sing, I've been searching for more of their songs.

The Bounty Hunter

I recently watched the movie The Bounty Hunter

The movie is about a guy, Milo Boyd played by Gerard Butler and a girl, Nicole Hurley played by Jennifer Aniston. The guy, Milo used to be a cop but after being fired is now a bounty hunter.

The girl, Nicole is a reporter searching a story about a mysterious suicide. All this is happening while she has a court date. She misses her court appearance and so she is a wanted felon. And this is how Milo comes to search for Nicole. She is his bounty.

And so the movie shows Milo hunting down Nicole. And what makes it interesting is that Milo and Nicole were once married and are now exes that hate each other, or so they think.

All in all the movie was ok for a chick flick.. I cringed a few times when it got really cheesy with the couple.

Marks out of 10:
Hmm.. I'd give it 4 out of 10

Movie : Precious - Spoilers!

I watched the movie Precious last night..

It's not exactly what I expected.. with her daydreams.
I just thought it would be an everyday story, which it was, in away, but the daydreams kinda took away from it, for me. It was set in 1987, in Harlem.

I really felt for the girl, Precious. That mother of hers.. I just wanted to slap her!
It was a touching story about a 16 year old girl, already had one child, Mongo, and is pregnant with her second. Both from her father.. Yea, incest. Her father had raped her, and given her 2 children. And her mother hated her for it. For her boyfriend getting Precious pregnant when she couldn't have that many kids.

Precious had it really touch. Then she got kicked out of school for being pregnant again. But she was sent to this 'Each One Teach One'. I think that's the name. Anyway, she was sent there so she could improve her reading and writing. So she could go on later and do more study or at least get a job. The teacher there, Ms Rain was a very sweet and caring woman. It really felt like she cared what happened to the kids. And she was there for Precious.

I would recommend you watch the movie. In a nutshell: It's an emotional ride for this 16 year old girl, pregnant twice and just kicked out of school. Her mother hates her and treats her like cr*p. Living in a rough neighbourhood in Harlem.

Look out for Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz!

It's from a book called Push by Sapphire.

Know Someone With A Gambling Addiction?

I do and it's destroying my family.

I've tried to see where he's coming from.
I know little about what it's like to have an addiction.
But, he's not trying to get help. He won't.
He's pushing everyone away.
He's gotten so many chances, so many.

I can't seem to forgive him now.
Not right now anyway.
€500 in a day.
It's not his worst but he's told us so many lies.

I can't take it. Him snooping around my room when I'm out.
Stealing money I had saved for my newphew and a trip.
And he lies straight to our faces about it when we know it's him.

What can be done?

Tv show/movies as an obsession?

I've recently been watching a tv show lately.
The show is The L Word.
I have seen the first second and third series already, then I began to watch the fourth and fifth series because I had gotten it on dvd.

The thing was.. I kinda got a little obsessed with watching it and wanting to watch it the whole way through. It felt like a need. A need to watch every episode til I was done with it. It made me kinda ignore my girlfriend a bit.. And I hated the feeling that I was doing that. I wasn't texting her as much.

With watching it so much, I got wrapped up in the lives of the characters. I know it's just a tv show and that it's not actually real. That the characters aren't real. They are actors and they aren't in love with one another, but I kept comparing it to my own life. My own relationship. Which is just.. Kinda stupid when I think about it because it's not real. It's tv. It may be real to some people, but my life is nothing like that.

I want to live my own life and not be comparing it to a tv show. I want to be in a relationship with the person I love and not compare it to the relationships or fictional characters. I need to stop getting so involved in tv/movies in that way. Comparing them with my life. With how I'd like things to be. Because life is not meant to be that way. We are all meant to live our own lives and not have this .. To not compare your own life with anyone elses. Fictional or otherwise. It is us that control our relationships.

Hmm.. Tv.. movies.. They are enjoyable and should not affect someones feelings, emotions. I have to try to find a way to seperate the two.
